Job Description

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers has beautiful state-of-the-art integrated Cancer and Breast Centers, with locations strategically located throughout the Valley. Our multi-disciplinary team approach includes surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging services, social service support, nutritionist, integrative services, and genetic counseling.

Overview:  Our diagnostic imaging department is growing and expanding with new modalities. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in our CT suite as a staff technologist. Duties include scanning on a multi slice Siemens CT unit, following scanning protocols, reformatting/reconstruction of images.  Must be able to start IVs, adhere to safety standards on federal and state levels, PACS and keyboarding skills, ACIST injector experience preferred,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows protocols in place for imaging studies set by EVDI.
  • Ensures all exams are obtained according to ALARA.
  • Schedules exams in Med Informatics for EVDI.
  • Utilizes Mosaiq and OncoEMR for scheduling; responsible for capturing charges.
  • Completes simulation set ups for radiation therapy patients.
  • Assists with assistant duties, as needed.
  • Operates CT Scanners, Contrast Injectors; responsible for starting all IVs.
  • Brings patients from waiting room back to scanner room.
  • Sets up and cleans room for next patient.
  • Keeps track of supplies and prepares supply orders, as needed.
  • Assists co-workers in any area to provide quality patient care.
  • Maintains a professional, team oriented, positive attitude.
  • Prints schedules for following day.
  • Provides support coverage for PET area, as needed.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of medical office operations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Internet.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years CT experience preferred. 
  • Must be ARRT board certified and have AZ State license.
